How does the weather change the amount of drinks?

On hot summer days and at outdoor receptions, beer, iced cocktails and water go up by 20% to 30%. At winter weddings red wine and whisky go up instead, while beer drops slightly.

Can I return the bottles I don't open?

Many drinks suppliers sell on a sale-or-return basis: you buy the full order and send back the sealed, unopened cases (usually up to 30% to 50% of it). Ask for this in writing before you order — it is the safest way to avoid wasting money.

What is a corkage fee?

It is the amount a venue or caterer charges for each bottle you bring in yourself, normally when the venue also sells drinks. Most venues will waive it for sparkling wine and spirits if you agree that in the contract beforehand.

Do children count towards the alcohol?
